BRAKKE CONSULTING VIEWPOINT

We hope that you’re warm and safe this week. Mother Nature is causing lots of issues related to travel and loss of productivity unless you count moving snow and scraping ice as part of the gross national product.

A number of the companies reporting final results for 2010 are putting up some impressive numbers. Congratulations on these great financial performances!!  Now they will need to top those numbers in 2011.  This could be a challenge if some of the current negative trends in the marketplace continue throughout the year.

Here in Dallas we’re looking forward to hosting many avid football fans from around the country this weekend. Thus far the weather has forced a number of the Super Bowl week activities inside.  It’s been interesting to watch the local and national media try to put a positive spin on 2 inches of ice and temperatures with wind chills below ZERO.  Friday morning we woke up to several inches of snow, with more falling.  The Steelers and the Packers should feel right at home!  As Dandy Don Meredith would have said “Boy that looks like fun.”  However, the forecast for the weekend is in the 50’s and temperature inside JerryWorld will be in the 70’s.

Have a great weekend and may your favorite team win!!

Ron Brakke
