COMPANY EARNINGS RELEASES
> Land O’Lakes reported results for its 2006 third quarter. The company reported $1.6 billion in sales and a net loss of ($16.7 million), compared to $1.7 billion in sales and net earnings of $80.4 million in 2005. Feed showed positive third-quarter momentum, reporting $629 million in sales compared to $624 million in sales a year ago. The company reported $74 million in Layers/Eggs sales for the third quarter, down from $96 million for the third quarter of 2005. (company website)

COMPANY NEWS RELEASES
> Tyson Foods Inc. made public several initiatives it has undertaken to generate more revenue. The initiatives include joint ventures in China and South America and more rapid new product development, with a new center for new product research and development scheduled to open early next year. The company also has created a renewable energy division. (Feedstuffs)
> Swift & Co and Environmental Power Corp. have signed binding agreements to build a renewable gas production facility at Swift’s beef processing plant in Nebraska. EPC will construct, own and operate the facility and sell its gas to Swift. (Feedstuffs)
> The FDA amended the animal drug regulations to reflect approval of an abbreviated new animal drug application (ANADA) filed by IVX Animal Health. The ANADA provides for the use of amprolium oral solution to make medicated drinking water or as a drench to prevent or treat coccidiosis in calves. (Feedstuffs)

ANIMAL HEALTH NEWS
> US – TRADE AGREEMENT WITH RUSSIA The United States and Russia have signed a bilateral trade agreement, meaning US beef has regained access to the Russian market. After a plant audit tour by Russian inspectors, the market will immediately open to US boneless beef, bone-in beef and beef variety meats from cattle under 30 months of age with an approved export certificate.
