Brakke Consulting is kicking off 2019 by announcing a leadership transition that promises to build on the company’s 32-year legacy in animal health industry consulting while positioning the firm for growth well into the future.
Company founder Ron Brakke announced today that Dr. Robert (Bob) Jones will take over the leadership of day-to-day operations, effective immediately, and that he and Bob will work together in managing a seamless leadership transition over the coming year and beyond.
“Brakke Consulting has built a seasoned team of consultants that over the past 32 years have supported nearly every leading animal health company in their efforts to manage healthy, growing and profitable businesses,” Brakke says. “Under the daily leadership of Bob Jones, we will work to continue building on the foundations that have made Brakke Consulting successful while ensuring that our business remains as an indispensable resource to all animal health companies in the future.”
Brakke notes that, aside from the management of day-to-day operations, his own role in the company will remain unchanged.
“We expect to operate in a business-as-usual fashion in all aspects of our operations, and I will continue to work with Brakke clients as I always have, striving to help them build stronger organizations and to commercialize promising new technologies,” he says. “At the same time, we will benefit greatly from the decades of experience in the animal health and nutrition industries that Bob Jones brings, as well as the leadership and management skills that he can offer to our internal team and to our clients.”
Jones holds a PhD. in Animal Nutrition from the University of Illinois and has worked in management and leadership positions over the last 30-plus years with American Cyanamid, Pharmacia Animal Health and Novartis Animal Health, among others. He is a globally-experienced, energetic leader, skilled communicator, team builder, and adept negotiator with a proven ability to analyze businesses and operations in developed and emerging markets.
“Bob has been a successful Brakke consultant for nearly two years and has proven himself as a valuable asset to our operation,” Brakke says. “He will continue to bring value to clients and the innovative ideas he brings to the table bode well for the future for our clients and for our own organization.”
From his perspective, Jones feels that his leadership abilities and skill set can position Brakke Consulting very positively for the future.
“My goals are simple – to make any transition seamless and virtually invisible to our clients and to ensure that our consultant team has all the support and the tools needed to continue to provide the solutions that they have built their reputations on,” Jones says. “At the same time, we want to become known as the innovators in the animal health consulting industry, bringing new and dynamic approaches to supporting client objectives.”
The Brakke team will be available for further commentary at the upcoming major veterinary conferences, including VMX in Orlando on January 22, and WVC in Las Vegas on February 19.
