> Patterson Companies reported results for the second fiscal quarter. The Webster Veterinary unit reported sales of $184 million for the quarter. Internally-generated sales increased 13% in the second quarter. (company website)
> Spectrum Brands Holdings, Inc. announced financial results for fiscal 2012 ended September 30, 2012. Sales for the Global Pet Supplies segment were $616 million, an increase of 6% over the prior year. (company website)

> Vedco, Inc. announced that it has entered into an exclusive distribution agreement with Bioniche Animal Health to distribute their new canine oncology therapeutic agent, Immunocidin. Immunocidin is a veterinary biologic for the intratumoral treatment of mixed mammary tumor and mammary adenocarcinoma in dogs. The product will be available to the veterinary profession through the Vedco group of distributors. (company press release)
> Purina Animal Nutrition announced the launch of HeiferSmart dairy heifer nutritional supplements. The supplements address the nutritional needs of heifers when they are transitioned to forage and pasture-based diets. (Feedstuffs)
> Pet360, Inc. announced the launch of Pet360.com, a website for pet parents that brings together thousands of expert articles and resources, an active community of passionate pet owners and the largest online selection of pet supply brands to create the ultimate destination for pet parents. The site delivers each member a personalized experience based on their pets’ type, breed, gender, age, size and medical conditions. (Vet Advantage)
> EU Vétoquinol announced that Forcyl’s (marbofloxacin) indications in the EU now include treatment of acute mastitis in dairy cows, as well as E. Coli-induced diarrhea in piglets and respiratory infections in fattening pigs. Forcyl was launched in Europe in October 2011 and was originally designed for the treatment of cattle respiratory infections with a single injection. (Animal Pharm)

ANIMAL HEALTH NEWS
> US – CHINESE VETERINARY TRAINING Kansas State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine formally agreed to welcome as many as 10 students from China into pre-veterinary courses so they can acclimate to American culture and pursue admission to K-State’s veterinary school or one of five others in the U.S. A group in China pledged $13 million to fund the students’ schooling after their initial year.
