BRAKKE CONSULTING VIEWPOINT

The news releases this week reflect a number of product line expansions and unique services in the industry. It also includes some important product line and distribution acquisitions that will strengthen the companies involved in various areas.

We continue to be impressed with how creative some companies are in filling product line or geographical gaps. While leading manufacturers have been global for some time, we’re now seeing veterinary and animal health distributors becoming large global operations. If one looks back only five years it’s hard to image multi-billion dollar distributors with a growing global presence. Animal health is clearly a global business and will become even more so in the coming years. The era of the small and/or medium sized family-owned distribution companies is coming to a close.

Have a great weekend!

Ron Brakke
