I\u00a0couldn\u2019t\u00a0help but read\u00a0the\u00a0many tributes to Dolly Parton this week. I do not have any stories to tell about her other than\u00a0she\u00a0owned\u00a0a small cottage in Solvang, California, which is in the Santa Ynez Valley where I grew up and where most of my family still lives. But the story of her life is amazing and something that we can learn from.<\/p>\n

We learned from these tributes how kind, considerate and generous she was to everyone, not just her fellow music and movie stars and not just at the end of her very successful career. She was that way her entire life. Dolly had what I consider to be the two keys to success: she was self-aware and was authentic. She was not born into wealth, her education stopped after finishing high school, maybe she was lucky, but she seemed to work hard, built wonderful relationships with people, and she clearly was able to recognize opportunities in the entertainment industry.<\/p>\n

But at the end of the day, Dolly Parton was a talented and genuine person \u2013 she knew who she was and never strayed from it. She was able to build trust and was as authentic as it gets. Her life is a reminder that knowing who you are, staying true to it, and treating people well may be among the most enduring foundations of success\u2014in life and in business.<\/p>\n

N\u00e3o pude deixar de ler as in\u00fameras homenagens a Dolly Parton esta semana. N\u00e3o tenho nenhuma hist\u00f3ria para contar sobre ela, al\u00e9m de que ela possu\u00eda uma pequena casa de campo em Solvang, Calif\u00f3rnia, no Vale de Santa Ynez, onde cresci e onde a maior parte da minha fam\u00edlia ainda mora. Aprendemos com essas homenagens o qu\u00e3o gentil, atenciosa e generosa ela era com todos, n\u00e3o apenas com seus colegas da m\u00fasica e do cinema, e n\u00e3o apenas no final de sua carreira de grande sucesso. Ela foi assim a vida toda. Dolly tinha o que considero as duas chaves para o sucesso: autoconhecimento e autenticidade. Ela n\u00e3o nasceu rica, sua educa\u00e7\u00e3o parou ap\u00f3s o ensino m\u00e9dio, talvez ela tenha tido sorte, mas ela parecia trabalhar duro, construiu relacionamentos maravilhosos com as pessoas e claramente sabia reconhecer oportunidades na ind\u00fastria do entretenimento.
