Embora ou\u00e7amos que a infla\u00e7\u00e3o, que \u00e9 a taxa de crescimento dos pre\u00e7os, est\u00e1 diminuindo, os pre\u00e7os est\u00e3o agora em um n\u00edvel muito mais alto do que h\u00e1 apenas 2 anos. Estamos vendo uma desacelera\u00e7\u00e3o no crescimento dos pre\u00e7os dos alimentos, mas n\u00e3o estamos vendo redu\u00e7\u00f5es de pre\u00e7os reais, com exce\u00e7\u00e3o do pre\u00e7o dos ovos, que caiu devido ao aumento da oferta, recuperando-se ap\u00f3s a dizima\u00e7\u00e3o que a gripe avi\u00e1ria causou nos rebanhos de poedeiras.<\/p>\n<p>Um dos maiores custos de ter um animal de estima\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 o custo da ra\u00e7\u00e3o. A infla\u00e7\u00e3o de alimentos para animais de estima\u00e7\u00e3o continua teimosamente alta, com pre\u00e7os crescendo +13,8% em maio de 2023 em compara\u00e7\u00e3o com maio de 2022, uma taxa que \u00e9 tr\u00eas vezes a taxa de crescimento do \u00cdndice de Pre\u00e7os ao Consumidor de +4% e aumentos de pre\u00e7os para alimentos humanos de +5,8% para o mesmo per\u00edodo. A boa not\u00edcia (?) \u00e9 que a taxa de crescimento caiu de +14,6% em abril.<\/p>\n<p>De acordo com os dados econ\u00f4micos do Fed de St. Louis, o <a href=\"https:\/\/fred.stlouisfed.org\/series\/PCU31161331161351\">\u00cdndice de Pre\u00e7os ao Produtor<\/a> para a fabrica\u00e7\u00e3o de alimentos para c\u00e3es e gatos cresceu +14,3% em maio de 2023 em compara\u00e7\u00e3o com maio de 2022. Parte da justificativa para os grandes aumentos gira em torno dos aumentos m\u00e9dios do pre\u00e7o do produtor para insumos importantes, como carne processada e subprodutos de carne, que cresceu + 22% durante o mesmo per\u00edodo de tempo.
